About The Simple Beauty Babe

The Simple Beauty Babe is a Woman Owned natural skincare product line manufactured in the United States.

Some women like the luxury and frills, and others are more simplistic. We believe you can choose what you like. The Simple Beauty Babe is Luxuriously Simple!

Our skincare products are easy to use, helping your skin look and feel radiant, and are good for you. Our skincare brand has been designed exactly for this reason... Allowing a woman to feel good in her own skin, feel beautiful at all stages of her life, without being made to fit a particular mold made up by the beauty industry.

Beauty is not "one size fits all." It is personal and unique, just like every woman. Together we can celebrate exactly who you are!

Our Mission Plan:

The Simple Beauty Babe has one goal, to change the narrative of the beauty industry as a whole. The creation of The Simple Beauty Babe, and its name, reflects the simple beauty that every woman carries, regardless of her age, skin, and image of herself.

Bringing to market truly clean simple skincare products, we aim to remind women that they are beautiful exactly how they are! She has been created for greatness, and has special talents and gifts, including her instinctive nurturing side that she was designed with, as a natural caregiver. She does not need toxic chemicals and long treacherous regimens to make herself “beautiful,” because she already reflects her own beauty!

The Simple Beauty Babe is made clean, using organic and wildcrafted ingredients, genuinely green, and with full transparency, as a reminder that it doesn’t have to be complicated. Women can have clean, effective skincare products that nourish and support their skin, heal what needs to be worked on, both inward and outward, and recover back what the beauty industry has stolen. It’s a bold statement, but The Simple Beauty Babe brand aims to live up to! It isn’t a one and done, but it goes much deeper than the skin.

About Essential Apothecaries

Essential Apothecaries, the parent company of The Simple Beauty Babe, is the foundation of true wellness. Our focus is root cause wellness and healing from that place, so the person afflicted can walk through the process of aligned care, focusing on the cause, with the benefits of an effective outcome. When we know how and where the issue(s) lie, we can better manage health, wellness and vitality.

What Does Essential Apothecaries Offer?

Essential Apothecaries, together with our client, creates programs and solutions, helping people stay above the line of wellness; with preventative measures, and information that is available in bite sized pieces.

What is the Focus of Essential Apothecaries?

We focus on all 4 pillars of health; physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.

They are all tied synergistically together, and it is how we were designed by our Creator (*1). If one of the four pillars is out of balance, it throws off the whole body.

Our recommendations are self-paced. Healing takes time, and with proper care of your entire body, working through the core beliefs imbedded in the heart, and overall well-being of your spirit, we can help direct you on your path (*2).

If you are suffering from a physical illness, while that takes priority, it can also be linked to one of the other pillars. Unresolved trauma, heart wounds, anxiety, grief, life changes, environment and more, can all result in physical illness.

Essential Apothecaries offers all modalities of health, personal care, quality nutrition from a functional perspective, general physical well-being, clinical aromatherapy, herbology, and custom formulations, among others (*3).

(*1) Creator: regardless of personal belief structure, spirituality, and background, we allow you to have your own freedoms here, without pressure or condemnation.

(*2) We encourage clients to work together with their healthcare practitioner, utilizing our services.

(*3) Currently, we are not medical doctors, and we cannot diagnose, treat or cure any illness or disease; however, we do offer tools that clients can choose to utilize for their overall well-being, working in conjunction with their primary healthcare practitioner.

What Can You Expect with Essential Apothecaries in the Future:

As Essential Apothecaries grows, we will be offering more in the area of holistic, functional and integrative medicine by licensed MDs, NDs, NPs, nursing, therapeutic and support staff, IV therapies, and several other quality services to support our clients and root cause wellness.

About the Formulator

Hello Beautiful! My name is Schelle.

I am a Cosmetic Skincare Formulator, focusing on green beauty, using organic and wildcrafted ingredients that are naturally derived, sustainable and renewably sourced.

My passion is wellness, and helping women have their best skin. With some shared education, and a Luxuriously Simple All-Natural Skincare Regimen, I help women gain back their skin confidence without harsh toxic chemicals.

I am also a mom of two beautiful adult daughters, and grandma to a vibrant little boy!

My Story, Background and Credentials

I have been a nurse for over 30 years, with half of that time focusing more on the natural aspects of health. After my own long health battle, I knew there was a better way than the direction in which I was headed. With a deep desire for root cause wellness, I turned from traditional medicine to a more detailed holistic perspective, with that being the forefront in leading my own health and that of my family. Utilizing the viewpoint of holistic care first, and integrating traditional medicine when applicable, it was then that things began to change for me.  With the understanding that once you discover the root cause, healing is possible, (although never a guarantee.)

The last 10 years my attention has been spent on clinical aromatherapy, herbology, and other modalities of root cause wellness. I put to use all that I have learned through research and education, and became a Holistic Health Practitioner. While I still maintain my nursing license, its value is in my foundation of where I started, and where I am heading.

How did I get into Skincare?

Many years ago, being unhappy with toxic and harmful ingredients in skincare products, I began formulating my own for personal use. With another detailed examination into this arena, I studied the evidence and effects on the body when introducing these particular toxins in our personal skincare product choices available by other skincare brands. While they are deemed “safe” within a particular parameter, there in no guarantee that a person's exposure is below safe levels in the many products they use, whether it be skincare products, cosmetics, daily hygiene products, cleaning products, etc.

Taking my career another step further, and being encouraged by my inner circle of family and friends, I have been trained in organic formulation and indie beauty to bring to market a line of skincare products designed to be good for you and our environment. I am passionate about wellness and teaching others about how toxic chemicals can contribute to health issues. We do not have to settle for subpar products with cheap fillers and harmful ingredients to use on our bodies or in our homes. We can do better, all while embracing sustainable beauty and living a toxic free lifestyle.

Our skin is the body’s largest organ, making up about one seventh of our body weight, and on average we are made up of 60% water. “Most chemicals are readily absorbed through the skin and can cause other health effects and/or contribute to the dose absorbed by inhalation of the chemical from the air.” (OSHA – Dermal Exposure)

Here is a Little Science on Chemical Absorption through Skin:

Without getting too deep into the science, this information is provided to show the absorption process and how chemicals (both useful and harmful) are absorbed into the body through our skin.

Dermal Absorption

“Dermal absorption allows the passage of compounds across the three skin layers—the epidermis (Figure 8(E)), dermis (Figure 8(D)), and hypodermis (Figure 8(H)), as described in Chapter 5. The dermis and hypodermis, but not epidermis, contain an interconnected network of vessels characterized by regular structures on all levels. Two networks of blood vessels are present in the skin: a superficial network at the interface between the papillary and reticular dermis and a lower network located on the border between the dermis and hypodermis. Vertical vessels connect both networks. The skin's blood vessel system supplies the cells and tissue with nutrients and oxygen, regulates the blood pressure, regulates the body temperature, and provides a barrier against absorption. Dermal absorption can be divided into three steps (Schaefer and Schalla, 1980):”

(Image of dermal layers and absorption)

E= epidermis layer

D= dermis layer

H= hypodermis layer

(Figure 8) “Mechanism of dermal transport. A sketch of skin cross-section showing epidermis (E), dermis (D), and hypodermis layers, main artery and vein, blood capillaries penetrating different layers of skin, and hydrophilic intercellular channels (8-1). Chemicals or particles are absorbed by the skin via penetration (8-2), permeation (8-3: intercellular routes and 8-4: hair shaft route), and resorption (8-5).”You can find more information related to this information here: https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/medicine-and-dentistry/skin-absorption

The Dark Side of the Beauty Industry

Beauty standards around the world are strongly inconsistent and unreasonable. They never remain the same, and it is a thirst that is never quenched, as the standards are a never-ending process. In a very adulterated beauty industry, it constantly tells women and young girls that they aren’t enough in their own natural beauty. The Simple Beauty Babe is here to disrupt that ugly thought process, and help reprogram women to see themselves as perfectly created exactly as they are! This industry is overwhelmed with falsities and constantly telling women they can be more beautiful, more appealing, more, more, more… and it is taking its toll, resulting in exceedingly harmful consequences.

Big brands, celebrities and beauty influencers dominate beauty in the context of “ideal standards” of beauty. These standards are regarded as a global standard. Body and beauty stereotypes are widely spread, and many women have developed a sense of loss within themselves, and feel insecure. (Insecurity numbers are troubling. Ninety-seven percent of women say they have at least one negative thought about their body image every single day.)

Beauty is by far the biggest insecurity women report. Dove did a global survey several years ago, and their consensus findings were that, “4% of women consider themselves beautiful, and anxiety about appearance begins at an early age.”

• 11% of girls globally are comfortable with describing themselves as beautiful

• 72% of girls feel pressure to “be beautiful”

• 80% of women agree that every woman has one thing about her that is beautiful; (but the other mindset and core beliefs of their insecurities dominate over that one area of their true meaning of “beautiful” for themselves.)

• Over 85% of women 55+ are struggling with low self-esteem due to skin’s appearance, therefore affecting their view of their own beauty in age.

• Research suggests that women in their late 20’s and early 30’s are considered most attractive, over other age groups, and reach their peak beauty at age 31.

Statistics and research similar to that above are caused by the beauty industry as a whole, revealing that women and young girls are mentally and emotionally triggered to change their lifestyle, even if it is unrealistic, because the demand is so great to “keep up” with the newest and constantly evolving beauty trends.

Women have been conditioned to be obsessed with beauty, being timeless, defying age, being a particular physical appearance, and fitting into the ideal societal standards to become the so-called “most beautiful” image, and accomplish their desired “beauty of a woman,” due to social conformity.

All humans have flaws, yet they are also beautiful in their own being.

A beautiful appearance may betray many, but only a beautiful heart defines real beauty. True beauty is found in fully accepting yourself as you are.

Beauty Industry Stats:

In global comparison, most revenue is generated in the United States (US $91.41B in 2023). The Skin Care segment accounted for 27% of the total Beauty and Personal Care revenues in 2020. The worldwide revenue of US $129B in 2020 is expected to increase to US $188B by 2026. (Stats from statists.com) The global clean beauty market was valued at US $7.22B in 2022. The market value is expected to reach US $14.36B by 2028.

What is Clean Beauty?

Clean beauty means that the skincare product is non-toxic, free of harmful ingredients, and has all the ingredients mentioned in the labeling.

Growing forward into the future, “people will be more interested in natural or organic beauty products and services, and they will be pickier about the ingredients that are used in beauty products, which will result in them choosing safer and healthier organic options. Due to new skin care innovations from Japan and South Korea and the trend towards natural ingredients and particularly strong growth in middle-income countries, Skin Care revenues continue to increase steadily.”
